The Scientific Revolution. This was a time period that had a great impact on history. It
shaped modern mentality. It utterly destroyed the whole medieval outlook of the universe.
The longtime accepted belief that the earth was motionlessly at the center of the universe
no longer exists. Also, too, the commonly accepted belief that the universe was divided
and the laws operating in the heavens differed from that of the earth no longer exists.
Nature became uniform and could now be understood conceptually and mathematically.
This was a time when science had a great impact on modern thought, especially in the
methodology of science, its conception of the universe, and its relationship to religion.
The Scientific Revolution was a time that had a great impact in the methodology of
science. The fact that nature was now understood mathematically brought about the
inclination of measuring and experiencing. During medieval times, everything was based
on doctrines or the thoughts of well-known philosophers, such as Aristotle and Plato. On
the other hand, though, after the Scientific Revolution observation and experimentation
was heavily emphasized. For example, it was always believed that the planets revolved
around the earth in a circular motion, but Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler, through many
observations, discovered the laws of planetary motion. Galileo, too, believed that only with
much experimentation could one come up with laws and give them mathematical
expressions. With his many experiments, he established a key principal of modern science,
the order and uniformity of nature. Another example is that of Isaac Newton. He also only
