School Uniforms
For years, people have debated over the pros and cons of school uniforms and whether or
not they help towards education or are a detriment to the student. There are both good aspects
and bad aspects to having school uniforms. Both students and parents alike can be found on both
sides of this argument. Some of the pros and cons are more obvious than others, like less dress
code problems since each student is required to wear the uniform. Even though there are some
pros and cons that are obvious, there are others that may not seem so obvious and are more
controversial. Proponents of school uniforms believe they remove distractions and help them
learn self-discipline, while opponents of school uniforms believe they take away self-expression
and increase costs for parents.
Opponents of school uniforms believe they take away individuality and burden familikes
with extra expenses. School uniforms appear to be something that is harmless and just a part of
everyday life for students. However, many people believe that wearing school uniforms can
affect them as people. There is a point of view that believes school uniforms can take away a
students’ self-expression and can help promote conformity over individuality. This is important
to many parents and students who feel students must become their own person and have their
