In I Have a Dream, (King) expresses his dreams of America during the March on Washington for
Jobs and Freedom. The element that appeals in the video of the speech is the zoom of the
crowd’s reaction. This speech became (King’s) most famous speech. In the video, there was
thousands of people in Washington trying to hear and look at (King) give his speech. In one part
of the speech where it says, “now is the time” (King). When (King) starts saying this, the camera
tilts to the crowd where different people hold signs in order to demonstrate their support
towards (King). Another element that makes this speech effective is repetition. Throughout the
speech (King) repeats the same words in order to make the community realize that the subject
of segregation is still a matter of importance. With this elements (King) was able to
demonstrate the nation that he had hopes and dreams towards the future and together they
could change everything for good, thus making the whole point of this speech appealing.
