Case Study Samsung Gear 360
Marketing strategy is the marketing logic which a company uses in order to build customer value and
profitable relationships, with this the company decides which customers it is going to serve and how it
will serve the, it identifies the complete market and then breaks it down into smaller segments,
selecting the best possible segments and focuses on satisfying the customers in that particular segment.
In order to use the Samsung Gear 360 you would need the support of a VR Gear Headset, so Samsung
could use Market Segmentation which would be to divide the market into groups of buyers with
different needs, behavior and characteristics to support the launch of Gear 360, like said before the
Gear 360 needs a VR Gear so Samsung could go ahead and put up a sale on the VR Headset during the
launch of the Gear 360 to attract more people into buying both of them because generally the VR Gear
itself is too expensive. Some people might get caught in the trap believing that buying both of them on
sale would be a very good choice as they would care more about the fun and experience of new
technology rather than the price
Samsung could also use Market Targeting to support the launch of Gear 360, Market targeting is

segments, For Example Samsung could focus on content creators and wealthy people here, the content
creators would definitely make an effort to purchase the Gear 360 as this would allow them to create
more unique content, something you cannot make with an ordinary camera. The wealthy people would
also make an effort for almost the same reason but instead that will be for their own experience.
However to do all of this, Samsung needs to conduct market research first, they need to study the
market and the people. This will help Samsung understand the type of people they would target, help
