This in a nutshell sums up the most difficult time I’ve been through. In 2009, with the
onset of recession I was among the many people who lost their job at xxx as a part of
cost-cutting measures taken by the company. With my wedding coming up, I had hopes
and dreams of a vibrant future with my wife. Little did I know that they would be shattered
so unexpectedly. My fianc had found a job in yyy with some difficulty and here I was
faced with an uncertain future. After the wedding in India, we returned to
yyyand I started looking for jobs.
The opportunities coming my way were not up to my expectations. I did not want to
compromise on the quality of the company and my profile and decided to wait for the right
opportunity to come along. It was a very turbulent time for me emotionally. My family in
ccc believed that I was being fastidious at a difficult time. There were times when self
doubt crept in and I told myself to take up the next job that came along. My wife supported
me through my decision to wait and I am glad that I did. Instead of getting burdened by
this time, I decided to take it in my stride and take up things I had not been able to do
while I was working full time. I joined the local chess club in zzz and honed my skills. I
