Are safe spaces detrimental to a young person’s growth to adulthood? The answer to that
is quite complicated. Many people mistakenly believe that all over the world the communities
are the same as their own. Even if human rights should be the same for everyone, there are still
countries in our world which are stuck in the past, and people who are “different” from the
average person in every society are considered minorities with no rights. Unfortunately, this is a
phenomenon that still exists in many countries, even in the “developed” ones, and, for that
reason there is an attempt to protect those people by placing them in safe spaces. In my point of
view this is even worse because these spaces should be the society itself, not just a specific area
in it.
