Ruined
In Lynn Noage’s Ruined, the protagonist of the play is Mama Nadi. This play shows us
how people suffers from the war in Democra c Republic of Congo. In this essay, I will mainly talk
about from act I in following passages about Mama Nadi. Mama is straight, duplicity, and at the
same me helpful women in Congo. These are the three main themes that seems to me more
reliable for Mama. The life she gone thru was horrible mes, but she never lost her desires and
she always wants to control her own life not by from someone else.
In Ruined, Mama Nadi is a straight businesswoman. According to Act I, the conversa on
between Mama and Chris an shows that Mama gets angry: “It’s okay for her to be here, huh?
I’m sorry, but I can’t. I don’t have room for another broken girl.” Mama has her own rules and
laws in the bar. It does not maer if she will save someone’s life. She has authority that she
