Summary:
Roxanne in charge of the Burt’s Bees’ which is a manufacturing
facility produce personal care product and handmade crafts. Burt’s
Bees’ move to North Carolina now which previous in Maine. The
reason Burt’s Bees’ move is the sales would have a lot of chance to
promotion than before if they move to Raleigh. However, the
network and the employee could not be move, so the problem made
Quimby feel lonely in the new work environment. Quimby need to
make a decision to move back to Maine or not in very short time.
Trace back to the beginning of the business, due to the story
between Quimby and her father, she has a sense and talent for
business. The handmade craft which attracted a few people and
store became a hint for her to sell it. After that, she decided to hire
employee and set up for some product line, aimed at to expanding it
to be a business as well as a brand.
In 1933 Burt’s Bees had a small scale and a big potential to grow.
Burt’s Bees became a big success at the beginning, the product sell
in famous retailers such as Macy’s. Then the brand became famous
go through the country. The more impressive thing is that Burt’s Bee
didn’t have any loan or debt since it start which is a good case for
study based on the method of manage the financial analysis. As we
known, Burt’s Bees is very profitability, especially in cities. The point
explained by Quimby is the design and position of the product.
The reason of Burt’s Bee to move is mainly the cost issue, including
the transport and tax which are considerable high for the business
to operate. The other reason is the employees lack of professional
skills, it could not allow the business to sell more product and grow
at a higher speed. The cost and unskillful worker became
impediments for the company to act e.ciently. Due to this situation,
Quimby decide to -nd a suitable place for Burt’s Bees to grow, she
