ATTENTION-GETTER: Imagine you are listening to a radio or watching television and
you hear these tragic news of homicide, robbery and sexual assault. Many of you guys
are going to think these crimes, which are classified as street crimes are the most
serious crimes in our society. However, there are more types of crimes that can
generate even more victims than the listed ones. Just sitting down at a rectangular
desk in the o)ce, wearing a professional suit and making one simple decision can
result in numerous victims and crimes; also known as white-collar crimes.
BENEFITS TO THE AUDIENCE: One day at some point, everyone is going to get a job or
have his or her own company. Every single decision that you make for your company
and even for your life will bring consequences that are connected to other people’s
lives and the society as a whole. Knowing what a white-collar crime is and the effect
of it will help you learn the importance of responsibility and integrity in your
professional life.
