Hello classmates,
As it is no new news, the President of the United States is a very influential position. The
President can make an impact on several different realms of society, including our economy,
including the Country's manufacturers and in-country factories.
Outsourcing has been a huge topic of discussion for President Donald Trump during the
Presidential campaign and was even a key point during the last speech he made before taking
Oath into office. President Trump, along with the team backing him, all are pushing for huge
industries, specifically targeting automobile corporations and plants, to move out of outside
countries and into America. President Trump has stated, more than once, that companies whom
do not choose to move 'in house' and continue their businesses in locations such as Mexico and
China, will start to see consequences and repercussions for such decisions. Such rules would
include placing an import tariff as much as thirty-five percent (ABC News).
The influence that President Trump is hoping to have on these big name companies is to
move them back to America, in hopes of bring many more jobs to the states for our citizens. One
of the companies in specific is the Carrier HVAC plant (Durden, 2016). As you can tell, this is a
ripple effect on the Society of the United States, just from one implemented plan, of reducing
outsourcing. This will in hopes create jobs, reducing the unemployment rate, and then in turn
bringing more money and revenue throughout our economy because of such.
