Role & Purpose of Warehousing in Supply Chains
The most significant component of the supply chain and logistics system is the
warehousing service. It enables a company to keep track of inventories, and data analysis aids in
reducing the danger of shipments being delayed.
Warehouse management is important in the supply chain because it allows for inventory
distribution, classifying, and cross-docking operations that help satisfy consumer needs.
Traditional warehouse management systems, on the other hand, are not created with the
flexibility or technological capabilities to solve the industry’s continuous difficulties.
Some warehouses just provide storage, while others have stringent contracts that compel
you to store a particular quantity of items for a specific period of time.
