I, Rigoberta Menchu: Facts or Fabrication
I, Rigoberta Menchu is a narrative for changeset between 1959 and 1981, aiming to illustrate the
shared experiences of prejudice, inequity, and discrimination of Indians in Guatemala under
absolute Military rule. Although deeply criticised, I am arguing that Menchus testimony is
powerful in representing the brutality suffered by Indigenous people and successful in becoming
an international symbol for Human Rights.
