The Rhetoric
Working at a troubled youth facility involves a lot of rhetoric, the program director
talking about the future of the boys and the therapists working alongside them to help
change their views on life to choose a better one. These engagements involve
arrangements, audience analysis, ethos, logos, metaphor, rhetoric, style, and topics.
This theory has three types of rhetoric which are epideictic, forensic, and deliberative.
These types are related to different time periods being the past, present and the future.
The assumptions of rhetoric go as follows: effective public speakers must consider their
audience and the speakers employ a number of proofs in their presentation. The focus
of rhetoric is to change the perspectives of the audience, and in order to do that the
speaker must prepare in good speech making and also involve the audience in their
preparation. The convincing of other individuals will take thought out careful
observations of the audience that way the speaker may be prepared to adjust his
methods of speech delivery to suit their audience. Rhetoric is used during staff to
student communications, the program director to student and staff communications, and
the therapists to student communications. Rhetoric is the shifting of multiple
perspectives that are all connected to a certain topic to the perspectives of the speaker.
This allows for the audience to see things the way the speaker does and potentially
