Subject: Adjusting Employee Performance Evaluations
Morning Supervisors and Managers,
Evaluations are very beneficial in growth and development of your employees. It’s important
that you give feedback to your employees, so they have potential to excel in their job. Here are
some suggestions you may find advantageous when making further evaluations of employees:
For the first step in evaluations an employee’s performance it’s important the you distinguish
developing performance standards and goals for each employee. For this to be most effective,
you may find it helpful to share your standards and goals with the employee.
Performance of each employee must be monitored throughout the year. By keeping a log for
each worker, you can note memorable incidents or projects in which your office workers are
involved in. Instead of placing negative comments, give constructive criticism where your
employees can learn from.
With the benefit of your log, please give a formally evaluated written performance appraisal.
Along with your appraisal a face-to-face meeting would be a good opportunity to guide your
employees in improvement to be made. Be specific, give deadlines, be honest, and be realistic.
Evaluations can be a difficult task and I greatly appreciate the time and effort you put into them.
Through some of these suggestions I am confident the evaluation will run smoothly and safely
for you. If you have any further questions please e-mail or call my office phone, I am glad to
help.
