2. when determining wither to open a Popeyes chicken or a krispie kreme donuts we must
evaluate what Fulton already must offer. There are several fast food places and sonic, dairy
queen, and McDonalds all serve chicken based foods. In such a small town so much competition
could make opening a Popeyes difficult. As of now there is only one donut shop in town that
operates within the hours of 5-11 five days out of the week. Walmart also sells donuts however
they are not as freshly baked. I would open a Krispie Kreme due to the limited competition vs.
opening a Popeyes. Jamolee’s donuts is far from both the central part of town and the two
colleges. I would want to set up in one of the empty store fronts on the brick district putting us
within walking distance of Westminster. Or in the old Verizon building across from Walmart to
put us among many of the other food options Fulton offers. Having already an established brand
name will encourage new customers to walk in and try our donuts. We would be open from 5-1
for morning commuters or college students getting a lake breakfast. We would close and then
reopen from 5-11 to give us time to clean and prepare fresh donuts. This will give us an edge on
the competition by offering Fulton’s young population a place to have a late-night donut. If
Krispie kreme has set hours established by the franchise like most do, we could also add a last-
minute pick up option for college students to pick up for meetings, study groups, or parties.
Staffing will be small consisting of 3 to 4 employees rotating between the morning and night
shifts. The odd hours will be a draw for some college students or even high school looking for
jobs after class. Manager and three cashiers who will all be prepped on how to prepare the dough
and bake the donuts. To build a strong relationship with the colleges, we can offer the excess
