Result of the Identified Issues
Nike has taken some steps in trying to remove the conception of them slaving away
workers in sweatshops for less than the minimum wage in impossible living conditions in their
factories. In 1996, Nike started by establishing a department committed to improving the lives of
the factory laborers. 3 years later, Nike continues their efforts by creating the Fair Labor
Association (FLA), which is a non-profit group that combines companies, human rights, and
labor representatives to establish independent monitoring and a code of conduct, including a
minimum age and a 60-hour work week. This organization is also promotion for other major
companies to follow in what they are doing with trying to improve well known labor issues.
Nike has also progressed in making sure that they are better aware of the factories that
