HORROR IN HUMAN NATURE
The most primordial and strongest emotion is fear in human nature and that emotion refers
to horror. Horror has been written for centuries. Horror comes in many shapes and sizes. Some people
like it for many reasons. For them, who likes the horror, horror is the best theme. Horror, which is the
best theme for some people, symbolizes some main things which are using to impose the fear. Some
of them are from our nature but in the same time, some of them are just fantasy.
According to the main things that symbolized by horror in films or videos etc., some of them
can refer to our nature like blood. On the other hand, that main things can also be used in some texts.
For example, Edgar Allan Poe, who gave birth to the modern detective genre, has a text and the chosen
theme is horror in that text, which is The Tell-Tale Heart. Edgar Allan Poe preferred to horror in his text
by using some main things from human nature. These are some elements of fear that we know them
because of our nature such as darkness, deterioration, death in murder and mystery.
My friend and I read the text, which is The Tell-Tale Heart, together and we thought that it is
very scary, and people should make a film of it because it is not fantastic, so I could imagine what
would happen while I was reading the text, so my friend and I saw that the elected elements is very
important. Poe preferred to use darkness, murder and mystery which are from human nature.
Nowadays, we see some horrible happenings, and these create fear in our life so creators, which are
poets, writers or directors, use these horrible happenings. Last year I went to the holiday in summer
with my friend. We were alone in home at night than we started to hear some voices like footstep. I
decided to look around, but my friend did not want to join me because she was afraid of that voice
and she wanted to turn on the light. In the end of that day, we found a cat in the house, but we were
still scared. We talked about that happening and she said that I was afraid of darkness but yesterday
she wanted to watch a horror movie in darkness because she wanted to beat this fear. Now, I
understand that we adapt to enjoy being scared. We love to play horror games, to watch horror
movies.
Moreover, when we watch a horror film, we respond to the situations by shouting, crying or
hiding. In real life when we experience similar things, we respond to the situations by doing same
things because in films directors use real situations with fake tools to scare us. Nowadays, creators
