What are the ways in which child rearing practices vary across social classes?

Middle class—concerted cultivation
Working class and poor class----achievement of natural growth
Differences: kids feeling bored or not?(full of energy), parenting involvement
(put children in center of schedule, treat children activities seriously, treat
their interests by enrolling them in organized activities and accompany kids,
parents see it as obligation and children feel sense of entitlement vs. sense
of constraint, give them autonomy in leisure time and creativity ), language
use, parenting directives(parents have authority, respect over authority),
their free time scheduled by organized activities or freely, kinship
If the child is a black child, then parents deliberately will give more caring to
prepare him for experiences as a Black male, they monitor his emotion and
activities to make sure he is not the only black child and blend him with other
white kids, belonged to all-Black Church, but race didn’t dominate child
rearing strategy e.g. Alexander, Stacey
