The Camera and the Eye
Cameras and eyes are both used by humans to serve a variety of tasks. The lens of a
camera and the lens of an eye, however, are two technically distinct components of an intricate
visual schematic that achieve fundamentally identical functions. These differences and
similarities manifest themselves from years of development and research that work to decipher
the system of nature and maximize the efficiency of human engineering.
The technically distinct components of the two visual frameworks start with the lens of
the camera being made up of glass and the eye consisting of cells and nutritional liquid (Stiefel,
2016). On the technical level, glass and living cells are two different substances. However, they
proceed to carry out the fundamentally equivalent function of refracting light onto a sensor.
