Dogs, like Humans, have generalized imitation
Summary
In this article, the experiment was research on dogs and their generalized imitations after
watching a demonstration. The “do as I do” method worked really well on chimpanzees,
dolphins, and parrots. Now they tested it in dogs and had been successful when a person
demonstrates an object to do and the dog performs the function perfectly. However, when a
similar object was given and not identical, the function was not performed perfectly.
Generalization is most likely to occur when the animals about to perform the tasks are prepared
