In the American Court System, there are many elements that are still very important
within the court and when determining court cases, whether civil or criminal. Elements such as
the Supremacy Clause, Prosecutors, Victims, probation, and law enforcement officers all have a
separate but equal part when determining the outcome of any certain claim. All of these elements
work together along with physical evidence to lead the jury to a verdict in the case they are
overlooking. Whether it be civil or criminal, the decision is always the most important part of the
court procedure, as to why all of these elements mean so much within the court.
When looking into these elements, the Supremacy Clause plays an important role in the
court system. The Supremacy Clause is a constitutional provision that dictates that when there is
a conflict between federal and state law, federal law takes priority. In such a situation, the federal
authorities would have the right to try the defendant first. They may decide to waive their
