Poverty is “the state or condition of having little or no money, goods, or
means of support; condition of being poor” (Poverty). “Nearly 47 million
Americans are living in poverty, unchanged since the worst of the recession,”
(Casselman, 2015). The recession led many people to fall upon hard times
