I think quizzes being online or not give students issues if they do not study material.
Granted some information and answers could be found online, however this does not make
the quiz easier or lest difficult. For many years, I have been a horrible test and quiz taker
even if I knew the knowledge. It is just mental when I hear the word quiz, test, or exam. I
think quizzes are useful for learning but not as useful ad discussions and quizzes. I would
make quizzes probably 10-25 points if it is just questions to access what we learned from
the text or answers that are verbatim from the lecture. I think quizzes are helpful to
students who need the quick jog of memory when taking courses. As for the way the
quizzes are set up, I think the save answer function is not as useful as it should be because
sometimes answers save automatically then sometimes they do not. I ran out of time once
taking a quiz on Blackboard because the all my answers would not save in time, even
when I hit the button. If I met with someone on the Blackboard assessment board, I would
also ask for the question completion function to show automatically and not have to click
the drop down button because sometimes it does not work properly. With any technology
there will always be flaws and or someway to make it more advance.
