Dear Future Self:
Hello! I hope is well these days. This is yourself from probably 2 to 3 years earlier. I
hope you read this letter at about the time of your undergraduate graduation. This is a record of
your own experiences of challenging a difficult assignment that you been through in your
freshman year taking the ENC 1102 course. I hope this letter can let you know how much
improvement you’ve got over the years, and also let you remind the passion you got when you
first time getting into college.
The hardest assignment you met in this class is the Annotated Bibliography and
Literature Review. Just by watching this long name, you can know that it is a hard and
complicated ass assignment. It was a 1000 word essay that required you to develop a research
question in some selected areas, and also a full bibliography with requirements for the sources
like terms reflections, quotable, etc. At first, the topic choosing itself was already made you at
the time very confusing. The selected areas like intergenerational communication, food habits,
and fandom culture, made you felt nervous since you never had any deep understanding into
those topics. In the end, you chose intergenerational communication, the topic that seems to be
the hardest, but you insist to write about that since it is something you had the experiences
before. Also, this was the first time you did this kind of APA bibliography, at the time you felt it
to be so complicated and time consuming. It felt like writing another essay beside the essay you
need to write. You spend a lot of time researching the sources you selected, and also reading
through the sample essays and APA bibliography guide on the internet to finish the format and
