Reflection: First Week of Internship
My first week of internship at Metrobank Foundation is like an abstract
painting; no exact word can describe all the emotions I felt during my first
week of internship. I always hope that my summer will be a different kind of a
ride, that it will be exciting and unimaginable. This internship program made it
possible.
I remember the moment I was interviewed, I felt nervous yet excited
because part of me want something different or something I never done
before and that interview is one of it. During the interview, I was asked
different questions that I never imagine would be asked. But, what I can say is
that I am proud to myself because I was able to answer the questions quite
well. I know that I am still in the process of improving my English but I never let
it to be a barrier for me to be accepted as an intern.
My first exposure was at the MMC event. I was assigned at the
registration table wherein I welcomed the participants with their coaches
and companions. I gave them my biggest smile and instructed them to
proceed inside the auditorium. After my duty at the registration, I went inside
the auditorium to help the others with their assigned tasks. I was glad that I’ve
been able to help them with my skills. The event was successful and everyone
was very happy. When I looked at them, they were all smiling and I have to
admit that it was the most fascinating thing I saw at that moment.
After MMC, I had my weekend break and then Monday again. That
day, we were oriented with the things we will be doing. The host of the
orientation gave me and the other interns the unit that we were assigned to.
The day started just fine. My mentor briefed me about the things I should
able to build.
