Reflection 3
I previously said that I would be nervous but also welcoming to the 3rd grader who is
deaf-blind. Which is still true regarding my views on having her in my class room full time.
However, if she were in my class in a time like today, where everything has been temporarily
moved to online I would be very stressed. I would have to change my expectations and
accommodate once again to make sure she was receiving the proper teaching methods to reach
her full potential while learning at home. Participating in a Zoom call with other classmates
might not be as beneficial for her, but I wouldn’t want to seclude the student from their social
interaction with the class. I would continue to talk to the parents to hear their opinions as well as
their concerns. In doing this, I would learn and grow as an educator to find what truly works for
that individual.
