Reflection 1
I am from Shanghai, China. I think China is in the middle of individualistic and
collectivistic. For my family, it is more collectivistic. My parents would do anything for
my sister and me. When I was 9 years old, it was tough time for my family. Sometimes we
didn’t have enough food to eat. My parents would let my sister and me ate most of them
first. Then, they ate rest of them even it was so less for them. In the society, I think it is
more individualistic. Beggars are exist whole world but in China they are treated
differently. When there are beggars come to ask for your help, we usually just walk away
and think they are liars. There are a lot of rob happen in the bus. There was news few years
ago; a man robbed an innocent people with his knife in the bus. The rest of bus passengers
and the bus driver were just sitting there and did nothing. They were so afraid to get hurt.
Nowadays, the young generations are braver than old generations. They willing to stand up
and stop the criminal. The news also report few young people got hurt by bad guy in order
to save people. I think the city I was raised Shanghai is more collectivistic. Especially the
old generations like my grandparents. When I was young, my parents were too busy to
