The Reagan Revolution was the term used for Reagan’s presidency. Reagan tried to change
Americans attitudes toward their country, their government, and the world. Reagan became
president promising to restore Americans faith in their nation, and defend America more
aggressively against the Soviet Union. During his terms in office, Reagan fought against the
Great Society liberalism, the ideas and values of the 60’s, student rebels, and the spread of
Communism.
The political outcome of the Reagan Revolution includes the Reagan Doctrine. This granted aid
to paramilitary forces seeking to overthrow communist or leftist governments, mainly in Central
