-Problem: poverty directly affects the development of children as well as
parent child relationships
-factors about the context of the problem that will influence the solution: lack
of resources and opportunities cause children to not be bale to be exposed to right
environment needed to develop in a healthy way.
-desired ends: children who are in poverty will not be subject to a deficit in
development.
E-Evaluate info needed to solve this problem
-factual information: issue linked to a noticeable decrease in brain volume in
areas associated with the ability to correctly process emotions and form memories.
Children who are subject to these socio-economic situations have been shown to
have a significant decrease in both white and gray matter, as well as a decrease in
size of the amygdala. (I couldn’t think of how to incorporate Africa) mothers mental
health, income, and education history all can also factor into how well a child
develops.
-value info: a child in poverty simply will not get the same attention from
society as a child from a higher socio-economic status. Lack of access to education,
as well as lack of access to normal social interactions will greatly affect a childs
brain development.
-identify criteria: decide how to help change the childrens life circumstances,
