Reality TV Assignment Due May 31st by midnight
Reality television has become a prominent feature of network and cable
programming today. Your assignment is to watch a Reality Television program
(does not have to be Canadian) and then analyze it -by deconstructing how the
show reflects, reinforces or challenges our cultural assumptions about beauty,
success, romance, competition, health, marriage, money, ethnicity and sexuality.
After watching one reality program (can be one episode or multi-episodes).
Please note, that your job is not to simply answer the questions under each
heading, but to use these questions as a guide to help you analyze the show and
its content. I am looking for your ideas as you deconstruct the show –take it
apart, analyze how it works, reflect on its basic values and assumptions that it
makes about society and make connections to course content
