Sports across the globe face different challenges within their players,
coaches, owners, fans, etc. What happened in American baseball during this era
definitely takes a toll on the entire sport itself. The ‘reserve clause’ and ‘free
agency’ ideas caused a great amount of conflict for the sport, its players, its team
owners, and eventually even the fans. Many times, out of protest, players would
go on strike, that ultimately hurts the club and its fans. Fans who are wishing to
go out and watch their favorite player, now can’t due to all the conflict that was
going on.
Many attempts to protest the reserve clause were put into action
throughout the history of baseball, such as The National Brotherhood of Baseball
