CHINA IN AFRICA
China’s interest in Africa is primarily on natural resource extraction,
infrastructure development, and manufacturing. China has been controversial
with the loans and investment that they have provided to different countries.
One of these countries is Africa. The African government welcomes Chinese
investments to their country for it brings political legitimacy and contributes to
their economic development. However, public opinion in their country is mixed
with others having positive view of China and some who sees this move of China
a contributor of corruption, poor working conditions, and job displacement.
