Re: No Tolerance for Inter / Intra Team Fighting amongst players.
Over the past few weeks our team has been in the news for rather unsavory of reasons. The
instances of infighting and rowdy behaviour between team mates has been increasing of
late. To make the company’s stand on such behaviour clear, we would like everyone to
note that any form of fighting or excessively aggressive behaviour whether off the field or
on it will not be tolerated.
The league’s stand on fighting and excessively aggressive behaviour as laid down in the
2015 league policy clearly states that any player found guilty of such misconduct shall be
penalised with a suspension of up to 5matches. We are well aware that emotions run high
during games, but nothing can justify resorting to violence. As professional athletes and
public figures every single one of us is required to represent the team out on the field. So
don’t fight, and if a fight breaks out involving other players, the stay away. The coaches
and managers are directed to take proactive steps to prevent such incidents from happening
in the future.
Lastly, every single one of us is obligated to perform towards the best interest of the game
as well as our company. Over the course of next few weeks we will be holding several
training camps where we will address this issue of fighting and violence in the game. The
training sessions are mandatory for all team players, coaches and managers.
Sincerely,
Sofiya Japanwala
