My idiosyncrasies
Introduction
Self-understanding is one of the most powerful tools that one can use for both personal
and professional development. Creating a highly impressionable and unforgettable brand of
yourself is a process that takes time and commitment. To achieve this, one must conduct a self-
assessment, to discover and gather as much information about him or herself. All humans have
distinct characters and attributes which comprise of strengths, weaknesses, interests, preferences,
and potential. These attributes are considered as their raw materials. This paper serves to analyze
my raw materials, assessing them from an etic approach. My aim for conducting this to
understand me and develop a better brand of myself. For this paper, I will be listing my key
attributes impartially through the use of personality assessment tests, outsider perceptions and
perspectives such as family and friends, and my understanding.
Strengths
The key strengths are the positive personal attributes that make you stand out and give you an
advantage in any endeavor. I assessed my key strengths using the Richard Step Online
assessment tool and obtained other insights from friends, family, and colleagues. The responses
and results were insightful and encouraging. The result of the test provided me with a new
outlook about myself and renewed my commitment to improving myself constantly. I validated
the results and responses by confirming with my tutors and new acquaintances, and I believe that
