RATATOUILLE MOVIE REVIEW
1. What is the movie all about? Give a synopsis of the whole movie.
ANS: The movie is all about a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite
his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic
profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated
beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent
dangers of being an unlikely, and certainly unwanted, visitor in the kitchen of a fine French
restaurant, Remy’s passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race
that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.
2. Who are the characters of the movie? Explain each character’s role and their personality.

Auguste Gusteau while working as a garbage boy at his father’s restaurant, Linguini is mistaken
for a world-class chef. In his personality Linguini is “not good with words or food.” Clumsy and
easily flustered, he doesn’t inspire confidence in any of his fellow cooks, but he lacks in

save Remy, and it is kindness that eventually lets him win over Colette and his coworkers.

the only woman in the kitchen is that she is the “toughest cook in the kitchen” of Guesteau’s in
Paris.
>Anton Ego
* He is a secondary antagonist of Ratatouille movie, he was a cutthroat food critic who was made
infamous for his scathing reviews and cold exterior, despite his generally negative criticism, Ego
was the most acclaimed food connoisseur in Paris. In his personality Ego is extremely passionate
about food, claiming, “I don’t like the food, I love it”, and claims to refuse to swallow food that
he doesn’t like, which explains why he’s so thin. He is a man of great taste and distinction,
showing knowledge of fine wines as well as food.

he is second in charge when he isn’t around. Before Horst worked at Gusteau’s restaurant, he
