Lessons Learned from “Quitter”
As I read the book “Quitter” by Jon Acuff I felt as if he was speaking directly to
me and is very applicable in my life. Through his own personal success journey Jon Acuff
provides numerous practical examples from his life about the principles he is teach in
“Quitter.” The book begins with a caution to readers about quitting their day job. Acuff
then eliminates several common hurdles between your day job and dream job and. In
chapter six Jon Acuff reveals the essential piece to make everything in his book work,
hustle. The book ended with several vital teachings on what to do after you have reached
success within you dream job that I believe will be very important to honor as I begin my
career as a young business professional in accounting. “Quitter” by Jon Acuff drastically
widened my perspective to the right way to go about acquiring your dream job and achieve
success.
The first chapter spoke directly to me and I wish I would have read this book a year ago.
Recently I quit my first day job I had been at for 2 years and took on an opportunity that
looked more like a dream job for me. I got to work with my friends, set my own schedule,
and make as much as I want. While I was successful I was unable to see the value of my
