Leadership and the Role of Managers
In most traditional business settings, managers are viewed in a leadership role, but in the
article I just finished researching suggests a different approach to management. A manager as
coaches is the concept I will explore; how this concept is used in the UK and how it can apply in
a health care setting.
Managers as coach’s (MAC) are individuals that generate chances for an employee to gain
approaches into performance, aimed at teaching and mentoring rather than directing, to improve
their overall performance. Research suggest that Managers as Coaches improved an
organizations efficiency because the traditional role is frowned upon or unproductive. This
concept was implemented with great success in the UK. In my opinion, I think we need to exam
this with great detail because the basic principles seem to work. MAC’s must possess a specific
