My name is Jin Ulmer; please address me as Mrs. Ulmer. I was born and raised in Taiwan; I was truly
made in Taiwan. I earned my Bachelor degree in Economics at the University of Chinese Culture in Taiwan and a
Master’s degree in Management at Stephen F. Austin State University. I am a certified CPA. I am fluent in
Taiwanese and mandarin Chinese in addition to English.
Prior to teaching full time at Angelina College I worked in private industry (including two fortune 500
companies) for more than 30 years, from entry level accountant to controller position. My expertise is in
financial reporting.
Learning accounting is like learning a foreign language. You need a lot of practice in the basic foundation
(accounting terminology and accounting logic). This material is absolutely essential to be able to read and to
understand books or articles written in the accounting language and help you to develop a skill set of reading
business information. This course will teach you the fundamentals of financial accounting from the ground up.
