1. Progressives were a group of people who believed in the development of
America’s Industry and society, but they also believed that the progress had a
point to reach and then it could be stopped. They did not give in to ideas like
social Darwinism, and the ideas of mega corporations. However, they were
divided on the cause of their fight. Some were against Corporations; some were
after exposing corruption and scams in the government. Social justice, and equal
housing options also became prominent during this time. Along with the new
ideas and groups, education and medicine also developed. This was when the
entire progressive idea turned into a group of social reforms.
2. The main difference between the reformers of the early and late 19th was their
view of the society. While the early reformers, wanted a sort-of community that
was close to a utopia, while the late progressives had set their goal and strived to
reach it, also they planned to stop at their goal not keep pushing their views into
