Introduction (50 points)
The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of my design of a toy for preschool
children. In this paper, I will also discuss how my toy would promote physical, cognitive, and
emotional, and social development in preschool children. Play is important for preschool children
because it allows them the opportunity to work on building a solid foundation for more complex
physical activities. Play also allows children to explore their own imagination and refines their
reading and problem solving skills. Play in preschool children is vital as it is the building blocks
for learning (Geiser, 2013, p.1).
Overview of Toy Design (50 points)
A toy that would be ideal for preschool children would be a toy caterpillar called
“Cuddle-Me-Caterpillar”. This toy would be in the basic shape of a caterpillar. I estimate the toy
