What Makes Me Unique
Psychology helps us as individuals get to know who we really are. Everyone has
different traits and aspects about themselves that makes us different and unique. Studying
Psychology has made me aware of my unique qualities that make up who I am. Through
self-analysis I found that I have many different traits about myself, starting with my self-
concept, who I believe I am. Next, in class we did a self-analysis, which helped me dig
even deeper into how I personally communicate. I also learned how to deal with other
personality types different from my own. Studying these things in class has made me feel
that I am now able to communicate effectively. Overall, Psychology has helped me to
analyze my personal self-concept, personality type, and how I communicate best. These
things are what make me unique.
Self Concept

West are great examples of extremely narcissistic individuals. Low self-esteem can lead
to depression. Module 5 also brings out that “people with low self esteem often have
problems in life, they make less money, abuse drugs, and are more likely to be
depressed.” (Myers) How do I measure up in self-esteem? I feel that I have a very
positive self- esteem and self worth view of myself. I feel that I am positive about
myself, because I believe in myself. So therefore, I am a believer. In the article handed
out in class entitled 5 Ways To Rewire Your Brain For Meaningful Life Changes
brings out that “Seeing is not required for believing. In fact, you have to first believe it is
possible if you expect to truly see it manifest in your life.” (Dispenza) I also believe this
this statement is true. I’ve seen this happen in my own life. There was a job that I wanted
really bad, so I seen myself there and imagined what I would do in that position. I lived
like I already had what I wanted, and sooner than later, what I wanted became my reality.
I not only believe in myself, but I believe in others too. I believe that anyone trying to
