Part I: How do we Remember?
Answer the following as completely and accurately as possible:
What are the 3 basic memory processes? How does each work to permit memory? (2.5
points)
The 3 basic processes are encoding, storage and retrieval. The brain encodes when it
receives sensory information. Once encoding is complete, we have a memory stored in our
brain. Recall is the process of accessing the information that has been stored in our brains
in the form of long-term memories.
Part II: Types of Memories
For each item below, tell me whether it’s an example of episodic (E), semantic (S), or
procedural (P) memory (0.75 points for each correct answer).
Remembering how to ride a bike procedural
