BCIT COMP 3839 – Data Quality Improvement
Project Due by midnight one day after our 6th class
The project for the class is designed to showcase the skills and knowledge you will gain over the 6 weeks of the
course. You are encouraged to submit your project as many times as you like so that it can steadily improve
over the 6 weeks. Please send your projects as an attached Word document to my email:
gordonwhamilton@gmail.com and I will try to give you feedback and suggestions on how to improve your
mark within 48 hours. If I have not gotten back to you in 3 days please resend.
The idea is that you can easily get an A or A+ on this part of the course (30% of final mark) by simply sending
me your initial skeleton of a document with the sections laid out with a sentence or two saying what you
intend to do in each section. I will give you feedback and you can resubmit once you have taken that feedback
into account and made improvements to your document. I’m hoping you all get top marks for your project
work.
Project submissions must be word-processed, with pages properly sequenced and a table of contents. You may
work on your own or in pairs. As described above, keep sending your iterations to me until you are ready to
submit your project to the DropBox before the due date. I’d really appreciate it if you could try not to do an
iteration every day for the last week as that is a busy time for everybody and I may not be able to give you as
much feedback as during the earlier weeks.
SO, please consider sending me early versions of your project so that I can give you feedback and you can use
these iterative feedback loops to improve your project until the end. Our aim is to get you to understand the
