Project Management Essay
Strategies have been covered to demonstrate how businesses can employ quantitative
concepts and techniques in their decisions, to optimize their outcomes. As the course is drawing
to an end, we have transitioned to the management side and have explored how to use these skills
apply them to a real-world setting.
The presentation, The Basics of Good Project Management, given by Greta Blash, gave a
great overview of what project management boils down to. This presentation is very important
for business students to watch, because it helps break down complexity of project management
while drawing comparisons to everyday life situations such a planning a wedding or remodeling
a yard. This helps students, who have yet to gain experience being a real project manager
visualize concepts in simple, well laid out terms.
To me, the most useful information in this presentation was the discussion on
communication during a project. In project management, the most important aspect of
communication is being “as concise as possible, especially in communications that are telling
