Problem Solving Paper
There are several primary healthcare clinics that I have worked with in the past few years. These
clinics each have a very large patient base, due to the fact that each office employs four to five
healthcare providers. The owners pushed their healthcare providers to each see at least 20
patients per day. They were allotted 15-minute time slots with each patient, with each
appointment beginning from the moment the patients checked in, to ensure that they maximized
the number of patients they saw each day. A recurring issue I saw with these offices was that
they were understaffed and really overworking their employees. Oddly enough, however, what I
have found is that the turnover rate of each office is lowthe employees choose to stay working
in these conditions! What I have observed is organizational commitment manifested in many
different ways.
