The Federalism Unitary and Confederal Pros and Cons
First let us think about the pros and cons of various governance structures. There are
actually three forms of government: federalism, unitary, and confederal. The federal structure is a
distributed tool, the unitary is strongly structured, and the confederal structure has a small degree
of centralization. In addition, the federal system believes in a strong national government that
shares power with the states. The unitary structure lays forth common strategies that govern the
