Abstract
This paper is a qualitative and quantitative analysis of NIKE, Inc., done as six separate
sections. The six sections of the project are external environment analysis, S.W.O.T
analysis, executive interview, strategic and tactical plans and controls, structure, culture,
and leadership style, and quantitative analysis.
Introduction
NIKE, Inc. is the largest seller of athletic footwear and apparel in the world. It employs
more than 33,000 people, internationally. Nike sells products in more than 180 countries
around the world; it reported revenues of $19.2 billion for the fiscal year ending May 31,
2009. Nike designs and sells products in three main product lines; footwear, apparel and
equipment. The products are manufactured in approximately 600 contracted factories in 46
countries around the globe. (NIKE-FY07-09, 2010)
Mission Statement
Nikes mission statement is to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the
world. (NIKEiD, 2010)
Vision
NIKE, Inc. has transformed the corporate responsibility function into something called
Sustainable Business and Innovation (SB&I). SB&Is mission is to enable Nike to thrive in
a sustainable economy. The Nike vision for SB&I, is to enable the company and its
consumers to thrive in a sustainable economy, one where people, planet, and profit are in

Visionary Goals
1. Innovate to deliver enterprise-level sustainability solutions.
2. Integrate sustainability into the heart of the NIKE, Inc. business model.
3. Mobilize key constituents (civil society, employees, consumers, government, and
