Question:
Write about any process in your organization which can be related to any of the management theories or
principles and justify the same.
Answer:
I belong to Projectized Organization, where employees are boarded for the respective project. I am going to
discuss the Project Management Process, which is closely related to the Administrative Theory of Henri Fayol.
Henri Fayol’s mainly focuses on personal duties management at much more granular level. In other words, work is
more directed on Management level. Management have five principle roles to forecast and Plan, to organize, to
command, to co-ordinate and to control.
Forecasting and Planning is an act of anticipating the future and acting accordingly (eg; Forecasting constraints
and developing Project Plan).
Organization is the development of Project Process, resources (men and tools) (eg; Training the Engineers on
respective technology, tools like primavera, mpp etc.).
Commanding is adherence to the Project process an integrity.
Co-ordination is the alignment and harmonization of the team efforts.
Control meant that all the Project related activities are performed in accordance with the project Guidelines and
procedures.
We map the Fayol’s fourteen Principles of administration with management’s five primary roles.
