The presentation was very fascinating. I learned quite a lot about supernova and
what drives their expansion. Supernova is the explosive death of a star. Nova is “New
stars’’. Stars blow up thirty times per second and supernovae occur every 50 – 100
years in the galaxy. Crab Nebula is a supernova that has compact objects inside it. It
also has neutron stars. Supernova 1994-D was the fourth observed supernova after the
A, B and C. Lenticular galaxy is a galaxy that has no spiral arms. Professor explained
that overtime, the sun will eventually swell up and swallow the earth. Some types of
Supernovas leave a remnant of compact objects such as neutron stars and black holes.
Professor explained that the lenticular galaxy had no spiral arms.
