Thesis (Central Idea): In this outline of an outline I am going to teach you what is needed for the
full-sentence outline portion of speeches 3 & 4 in Mr. Ne0’s Communication 101 course.
INTRODUCTION
I. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse , The United States makes up 5%
of the world’s population and consumes 75% of the world’s prescription drugs.
I used to be addicted to pain killers such as Oxy Contin, Norcos, Lortabs, Percocet.
II. 52 million Americans (20% over the age of 12) have abused prescription drugs in
their lifetime.
III. The nonmedical use and abuse of prescription drugs in the United States is a serious
public health problem and is just as dangerous as illegal drugs, most of these people
do not know hot to get clean or are afraid to ask for help.
